One Shot: Tea Leaves Kiss
A simple one shot about the unrequited love between the personification of the sun and the moon.
Rated: K - English - Romance/Spiritual
Harumi, a teen girl with long white hair, a yellow sun shaped hat and a white dress, stares at clouds from her window. Wind blows her hair. She is inside a tall-shining building, similar to that as Rapunzel's castle. She smiles as she notices an old Butler with a white mustache and half bald head with only hair on his sides enter her room.
- Your highness. Tea is ready. -
The man places the cup of tea on a beautiful crystal table. Harumi holds the cup of tea.
- Thank you very much Flabeo. You may go now. -
- As her highness wishes! -
Flabeo departs the room. Harumi sits down on her big red couch and sips the tea. - Haa..bitter... -
Harumi closes her eyes and smells the greenish cups of tea, tasting it's herbal and orange flavor almost as if her nose was her tongue.
Harumi's body vanishes into dust.
Harumi opens her eyes to find herself in a valley of beautiful puffy white flowers that fly up as the wind blows by. There are fertile tea plantations all around. A house is in the middle, a river beside it with fishes.
Harumi runs towards the house when she sees a red devilish teen with hair that is spiky and curvy like a crescent moon in front of it. His hair was spiky red, eyes yellow, yet his skin was soft as toy doll. He chuckles and waves his arm.
He slowly walks towards her as she runs to his arms. All the plantations and grass he squashed withered and died.
- Tsukima! - Screams Harumi with tears in eyes.
Tsukima lays his head on her shoulder and kisses her neck. He then looks at her. They both smile staring at each others eyes. Harumi can't help but cry.
- What's wrong Harumi? -
- I love you so much... -
Tsukima, gently, yet forcefully pushes Harumi away. He remains silent. Harumi bites her lips holding her tears from falling.
- I know! I know we can't, I'm sorry! -
- Exactly. A kiss is forbidden...if we do kiss this world ends... I love you... and... -
- Will we really have to fight one day? -
- My destiny is to destroy the world my love... -
- And my destiny is to save this world...! -
Tsukima sighs. He hugs her once again but this time tighter.
- No matter what, you and me shall forever remain lovers my love. -
Harumi stares down silently. - Then if you love me so much can't we find a way to abandon this land together? Just you and me...Tsukima... -
- If only we were humans... -
Suddenly the sound of a clock ticking *cucko-cucko* echoes the valley. Tsukima pats her hair and takes out a tea leaf from his pocket.
Tsukima places a tea leaf with the shape of a heart in her hand and pats her head.
- I love you Harumi... -
- I love you too Tsukima... -
- Until next time... - He says waving.
She smiles.
They blow a kiss to each other. Her body turns to dust once again. She wakes up on her sofa. A tear in her eye. She cleans it.
- Tsukima... - In her hand she sees the tea leaf and kisses it, smiling. She then places the leaf on basket full with kiss leaves. The basket had a sticky note that read Harumi x Tsukima.
Tsukima stares up at the sky from the valley. Harumi snuggles under her blanket as the moon rises in the horizon. She closes her eyes.
